KUALA LUMPUR – Tim Goi, the founder of on-demand cleaning platform Okay Tasks, appeared on BFM 89.9 to discuss the startup’s strategic entry into the competitive home services market.

During the interview, Goi detailed the company’s transition from a traditional B2B cleaning business to a B2C technology platform, emphasizing a refined focus that aimed to avoid the pitfalls of previous industry players.

He highlighted the platform’s 20% transaction fee model and successfully raised RM250,000 through an Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) campaign, a move designed to fuel the brand’s digital evolution and regional growth.

Throughout the session, Goi addressed the inherent challenges of the industry, noting that securing a reliable supply of cleaners was a more significant hurdle than customer acquisition.

To build long-term consumer trust, he explained that Okay Tasks implemented a strategy centered on insurance coverage and partnerships with established agencies rather than independent contractors alone.

This specialized approach, focusing exclusively on the recurring demand for cleaning services, was presented as the primary driver behind the company’s ability to scale efficiently while ensuring high service standards for busy households across the Klang Valley.
